You can also pray non-theistically - praying to the Universe itself is one way to do this.īut the mere mention of how prayer can further empower such a simple magic immediately brings an additional spiritual aspect to Road Opening. Or if you’re a Christian just pray to God or Jesus or the Blessed Virgin. Hekate is also known as Einodia - Goddess of all roads - so She’s another good choice. Ganesha, Hermes, and Papa Legba come immediately to mind. And an added prayer to a road opening Deity or Spirit or one of magic or witchcraft only helps empower the oil’s ingredients. Road Opener oil can help you get out of that rut and improve your lot. Or, more generally, maybe you just feel that your life is in a rut. For example, say you’re stuck in a crummy job - you might apply a dab of Road Opener oil to the palms of your hands in the morning, rub it in good, and as they say go pound the pavement looking for a new and better job. The “goals” and “blockages” and “new opportunities” that the quote above from Quadrivium Supplies mentions are, as far as I can tell, usually interpreted as meaning as material goals, blockages, and new opportunities. Road Opening clears away blockages and by doing so, opens the way for new opportunities. This is the oil to use when you feel stuck, blocked, or hemmed in by circumstance – when you’re ready to move forward, but there’s something in your way. Road Opening is a powerful oil used to “open the way” between you and your goals. (I hope they take my quote-theft as an advertisement, by the way, which is really what it is - I love their stuff.) In the early stages of a community’s life, it’s important for the organizers to build strong connections with the first handful of members, since early adopters are more likely to join discussions, answer questions, and contribute in ways that make the community seem active and vibrant. Note: Discourse offers a plugin for integrating with chat platforms.Want separate spaces for distinct groups, for example a chat for your champions and a forum for everyone else.Have the bandwidth to manage multiple platforms. You want indexed content (Discourse) along with realtime vibes (chat).Use both chat (Discord or Slack) + Discourse if… For new members, starting a new thread in a forum can be perceived as a higher barrier of entry, versus simply saying “hello” in a chat channel. There are many technical options for starting a community on Discourse, including deploying the open source code on your own servers, paying a third party for hosting, or paying for a fully hosted solution. You want to use an open source platform. You don’t mind paying to host the forum software, or are capable of hosting it yourself.Synchronous communication isn’t important, for example, if your community is distributed across many time zones. You have enough community members for chat to be counterproductive.Moderation and fine-grained permissions are important. This helps new members discover the community while reducing the core team’s support burden. You’d like community-generated content to be indexed (and thus findable in search engine results). Many community members will likely have similar questions or issues, and you’d like to point them to a library of common answers.Editor's note: Since this article's publication, Discord has dialed back the gamer-centric messaging and is now promoting itsel as " Your place to talk." We expect the gamer vibes to play an increasingly small part of the Discord experience as it seeks to expand beyond the gaming community. Discord’s design and copy is playful and gamer-centric, which could be confusing for community members who aren't familiar with Discord’s gaming roots. It’s possible that some might not want to use their stormtrooper headshot in a professional setting. But it means it’s impossible to use different avatars for different communities, which could be a concern for folks who have used Discord primarily for gaming in the past. This user model means you can join new communities with a single click (versus creating a new user account for every community). With Discord, community members use a single account to login to multiple communities.Integrations and bots are less important.Making users sign up for yet-another-Slack group is a concern. You need realtime chat with advanced permissions and moderation. It’s specifically designed for workplaces, and they don’t appear interested in building features for moderation. Slack offers no real tooling for moderation.Every community we’re aware of uses the free plan. Slack paid plans start at $8 per user per month. On the free plan, Slack only retains the most recent 10,000 messages, which means they automatically archive messages above that threshold. You and your community members already use Slack for work. You don’t care that only the last 10,000 messages are retained (on free plans). You want threaded conversations in your realtime chat. You want to take advantage of Slack’s large library of integrations and bots (limited to 10 on free plans), or use their no-code workflow builder (only paid plans). We’ll discuss plenty of details, but here are the high-level recommendations. The 3 key factors to consider when choosing. In this article, we’ll discuss the key factors to consider when choosing a community platform, compare the three most popular options, and make recommendations based on a few different community scenarios. While there’s no silver bullet for building and growing a community online, there are a few key questions to consider that will help guide your tooling decisions and your community strategy. There are just too many variables, including community size, engagement model, the size and capabilities of the team building the community, and more. Now is a great time to build a community online, and there’s no shortage of really great tools to help.īut despite the many options, there’s no single tool to rule them all. “What platform should I use for my startup’s community? Should I move from Slack to Discourse? Responses of Atrial Tachycardias to AdenosineĪ: Focal atrial tachycardia from the lateral tricuspid annulus terminates with adenosine. The purpose of this review is to summarise current concepts of atypical flutters and ATs which are not dependent on the CTI. The demonstration of bidirectional conduction block across linear lesions has been adopted as an important endpoint in ablating atypical flutters in both atria. Through the use of multielectrode catheters and electroanatomical mapping, as well as entrainment, atypical atrial flutters and atrial tachycardias (ATs) of various mechanisms have been defined. Principles learned from these studies of typical flutter have permitted better understanding of more complex atrial arrhythmias. Criteria to confirm bidirectional conduction block in the cavotricuspid isthmus (CTI) became standard procedural endpoints and improved freedom from long-term recurrences. Activation and entrainment mapping demonstrated that typical flutter arises from reentry around the tricuspid annulus. Pioneering electrophysiology studies in the 1990s defined the anatomical boundaries of typical atrial flutter, identified regions for effective catheter ablation of this arrhythmia and described procedural endpoints to minimise recurrences after ablation. Advances in understanding the mechanisms of ATs and their signature electrogram characteristics have improved the efficacy and efficiency of catheter ablation. A characteristic feature of localised reentry is highly fractionated, low-amplitude electrograms that encompass most of the tachycardia cycle length over a small diameter. Localised reentry occurs in the setting of diseased atrial myocardium that supports very slow conduction. High-resolution mapping techniques have defined details of macro-reentrant circuits, including zones of conduction block, scar and slow conduction. Macro-reentrant ATs occur in the setting of atrial fibrosis, often after prior catheter ablation or post atriotomy, but also de novo in patients with atrial myopathy. These typically arise from preferential sites such as the valve annuli, crista terminalis and pulmonary veins. Focal ATs may occur in structurally normal hearts but can also occur in patients with structural heart disease. Features that distinguish these AT mechanisms include electrogram characteristics, responses to entrainment and pharmacological sensitivities. Atrial tachycardias (ATs) may be classified into three broad categories: focal ATs, macroreentry and localised reentry – also known as ‘microreentry’. If you’re in this situation, try to view it as a positive that you have a reason to go log some time in the air and get more experience. There’s no way around this… you just have to log the time before you’re eligible for the commercial license. But that still leaves a gap of 150 hours to get your commercial. Many new students will get their private and then immediately get their instrument rating, which between the two will build around 100 or more flight hours. So getting up to that 250 total flight time mark can seem like a daunting task. If you just got your private pilot’s license, you probably have 40-80 flight hours. Part 61 Requirements for the Commercial Pilot’s License 250 Hours of Flight Time 3 hours 60 days prior to testĪs you can see, there are fewer total hours required to get your commercial pilot’s license in a Part 141 program, which depending on your prerequisite experience you could probably complete it faster than in a Part 61 training program.įor more reading on this topic (including pros and cons), see our full article on Part 61 vs. 3 hours 2 calendar months days prior to testĥ5, including at least: 10 hours instrument 10 hours complex One 2 hour daytime cross-country (>100 NM) 2 hours night time cross country (>100 NM). In short, Part 141 flight schools have a more structured training regimen that must be approved by the FAA, and are also subject to periodic inspections as well as student volume and check ride pass percentages. How long it will take you to accomplish your commercial pilot’s license will first be impacted by whether you are training in a Part 61 or Part 141 program. The flights and dates where you accomplished each of the requirements it willīe an enormous help. Your examiner will beĭoing the same exercise at your check ride so if you can go ahead and identify Record when you accomplished each of the requirements. This post there is a free downloadable checklist that you can print off and If that’s your goal, see our article on what it takes to fly a jet where we walk through all of the different required (and sometimes optional) ratings and licenses you’d need to fly the big birds. Note that the commercial license isn’t what certifies you to fly jets per se, so if you are reading this article with the hopes of heading to the airlines, that is a slightly different topic. It in as little as a few days to a couple of months depending on how often you It only takes about 10 hours of additional flight training, so you can complete If you already have the prerequisite flight experience, Hours of flight experience, which depending on how often you fly could take 6 With 0 flight time, qualifying for your commercial pilot’s license takes 250 So, how long does it take to earn a commercial pilot’s license? There are some prerequisites to be aware of that will determine how long your training will take based on how much experience you have up until this point. If you’ve cruised through your private pilot’s license and are looking ahead to future ratings, the commercial rating is a relatively easy rating that will also certify you to be paid to fly. In the last few years I have made it a point and have tried to take the time to thank and acknowledge those around me whom have done exceedingly good work and deserve recognition or those that have caused me to change the way I think about things in general or in life.
