The White rhinos habitat is tropical and subtropical grasslands, savannas and shrub lands. The White rhino lives in Africa – same as the Black rhino. This rhino can exceed 6,670 pounds (3,000 kilograms), have a head-and-body length of 3.35 – 4.2 metres (11 – 13.9 feet) and a shoulder height of 150 – 185 centimetres (60 – 73 inches). The White Rhino has a massive body and large head, a short neck and broad chest. The White Rhinoceros is well known for its wide mouth used for grazing and for being the most social of all rhino species. The White rhino is larger than the Black rhino, in fact the White rhino can grow to be larger than any other land mammal except for elephants. Behind the elephants, this is probably the most massive remaining land animal. The White Rhinoceros or Square-lipped Rhinoceros (Ceratotherium simum) is one of the 5 species of rhinoceros that still exists and is one of the few megafauna species left. ![]()
